Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD condition.

  • Blue covers have blind tooled decoration. 
  • Boards show some wear, scuffing, heavy edgewear.  Corners are worn, with exposed board.  See photos.
  • Spine has gilt text and illustration dimmed, with chipped, frayed ends.  See photos.  
  • Binding is secure; stitching visible at pg. 208.  See photos. 
  • Pastedowns and feps have some staining, scuffing, owner's marks, tears.  See photos.  
  • Frontispiece is present and has intact tissue guard.
  • Interior exhibits scattered moderate foxing, some stains, wear to sheet edges, a torn corner at pg. 209.  See photos. 
  • Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
  • Text block edges have a little wear at upper corner.  See photos.

A very good copy in original publisher's tooled blue cloth covers, rather worn at the edges.  This collection of thirteen stories from an anonymous author combines romance and adventure with uplifting Victorian sentiment. 

Inscribed in pencil on the front fep "Mrs. Ann Eliza Combs, Mendham NJ," and also "Effie D. Combs, Morristown NJ, daughter of C.B. Combs."
