Comprehensive guide, with 194 illustrations and 21 color plates, to the ocean liner "Bremen" built for the Norddeutscher Lloyd line. Edited by Fritz August Breuhaus de Groot, an architect and designer responsible for the ship's interiors. Boards are darkened with exposure and show wear at the edges. Interior is unmarked, with very nice illustrations. Condition is overall Very Good. Not seen elsewhere in the English version.
Launched on August 16, 1928, the SS Bremen was a German-built ocean liner constructed for the Norddeutscher Lloyd line (NDL) to work the transatlantic sea route. The book's editor F.A. Breuhaus de Groot (1883-1960) documents, largely through images, every aspect of the SS Bremen's decorations, design, construction, and service. The volume includes at the rear a complete list of contractors who supplied furnishings; it is a great source documenting 1920s design and technology.
