Hardback set is overall in VERY GOOD condition.

  • Black covers three-quarter leatherbound have gilt ruling. 
  • Boards show some smudges, scuffing, edgewear.  Corners are bumped, scuffed, with exposed board.  See photos.
  • Spines have gilt text and decorated bands and are a little dimmed, with firm ends.
  • Bindings are secure.  
  • Marble end papers/ pastedowns show little sign of age or wear.
  • Title page of each volume is stamped "Huffnagle Spring Dale", with name in pencil.  See photos.
  • Interiors are toned, with moderate to heavy foxing, some small holes.  See photos. 
  • Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks. 
  • Text block edges have some marks.

Six volumes, in contemporary bindings, of this very scarce set, which was conceived as a continuation of Dodsley s famous Select Collection of Old Plays (1744).  General tanning to the paper, with some pages more foxed, but overall in very good condition.
