Portfolio is overall in VERY GOOD condition.

  • Thin board covers with ecru paper have orange inked titles and brown ribbon tie.   
  • Boards show some smudges, marks, warping, edgewear.  Corners are scuffed. 
  • Cover spine is repaired.  See photos.  
  • Fifteen loose folio sheets within board covers.  
  • First sheet introduces the collection and explains its genesis.
  • Illustrations are bright and clear, plates are tipped-in.  See photos.  
  • Sheets are gently age-toned; some corners softened; some smudges in margins.  See photos.  
  • Interior is free of writing and intentional marks.

Portfolio of color lithographs commissioned beginning in 1966, which appeared in a series of advertisements for the Westinghouse Broadcasting Company.  The artist is Corita Kent (1919-1986), at the time head of the art department of Immaculate Heart College in Los Angeles.  Cover message by Donald H. McGannon, Chairman of the Board and President of WBC.  Each sheet has a full color lithograph by Corita, side by side with a notable quotation (e.g. Goethe, Ben Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, Thoreau) and comment from WBC about the duty, purpose, and goals of radio and television broadcasting to American society.

First edition, issued January 1, 1974.  Complete.
