Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD condition, with a GOOD DJ.

  • Boards with black cloth covers and silver titles show some marks, edgewear.  Corners are scuffed.
  • Spine has silver text and is bright with crushed ends.
  • Binding is secure. 
  • End papers/ pastedowns show little to no sign of age or wear.
  • Frontispiece, a photograph from The Seventh Victim, is present.
  • Illustrations are bright and clear.  
  • Interior exhibits some marginal toning.  Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
  • Illustrated DJ has bumping along foot edge, edgewear; bumping and chips along head, chipped corners, some staining at back return.  See photos for details.

Biographical study of Val Lewton (1904-1951), Russian-born film maker.  Revered by horror film enthusiasts, Lewton is best remembered for producing films at RKO in the 1940s such as Cat People and The Body Snatcher.  Illustrated with black and white photographs throughout.

Volume #22 in The Cinema One Series, published by Viking in association with Sight and Sound and the Educational Advisory Services of the British Film Institute.
