A complete and intact copy of this very scarce comic compendium, of which only four institutional holdings are shown in Worldcat.  The covers of this oblong quarto are creased and fragile, but the staple binding is intact, and the cartoons, printed on one side only, are clear and bright.

This 1902 collection includes "all the merry pictures contained in the two volumes Entitled 'Adventures of Foxy Grandpa,' and 'Further adventures of Foxy Grandpa,'" drawn by Carl Emil Schultze (1866?-1939), known to all by his pen name Bunny.  Foxy Grandpa was first pubished in January 1900 in the New York Herald, later moving to the New York American in 1902.

The novelty of Foxy Grandpa, who shared panel space with his two grandsons, was its inverting of the common trope of the doddering old man.  In these cartoons, Foxy Grandpa is the clever one, who either gets the best of his grandsons or else extricates them from the predicaments they find themselves in.  Foxy Grandpa was extremely popular, and the success of the comic made Schultze a rich and famous man, albeit only for a brief period.
