First Edition copy of this collection of Pueblo folk-stories is overall in Very Good- condition.  Publisher's pictorial cloth with illustration in green and orange with gilt title is darkened with staining.  Binding a bit fragile.

Charles Fletcher Lummis (1859-1928), a Massachusetts native, was a journalist who traveled west, settled in Los Angeles and then spent some years in New Mexico.  He wrote about his experiences, became an advocate for the native peoples of the Southwest, and founded the Southwest Museum of the American Indian.
