Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD condition.

  • Spine has gilt text somewhat dimmed and is a little faded with softened ends.  See photos.
  • Binding is secure.  
  • End papers/ pastedowns show little sign of age or wear.

  • Illustrations in black and white are bright and clear.  
  • Interior exhibits minimal signs of age and wear.  Inside pages are free of intentional marks.

Second Edition.  Publisher's russet cloth, lettered in gilt on top board.  Signed and inscribed by author on portrait page (verso of Preface).  Copiously illustrated with portraits, facsimiles of documents, maps, views.  Work of local Pennsylvania history includes a list of subscribers, detailed Table of Contents, and List of Illustrations following the text.  Boards show a little exposure and shelfwear, with crisp interior.  Condition is overall Very Good.

One of the essential studies of Berks County history, with Womelsdorf its central focus.
