Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD- condition.

  • Black cloth covers have gilt titles. 
  • Boards show some scuffing, stains, splitting at shoulder, dings, edgewear.  Corners are scuffed, with exposed board.  See photos.  
  • Spine has gilt text dimmed and has splits in cloth.  Ends are crushed and chipped.  See photos.  
  • Binding has front cover partially detached, back cover shows signs of separation; signatures secure, with stitching visible at some openings.  See photos. 
  • Pastedowns and feps have some staining, owner's marks.
  • Frontispiece is present and has intact tissue guard.  See photos.
  • Foldout map is present. 
  • Volume retains a piece of the original dust jacket.  See photos.
  • Illustrations are bright and clear.  
  • Interior is gently age-toned, with some stains, light scattered foxing.  Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
  • Text block edges have a few marks.
