• Tan pictorial covers with frame and title in orange ink. 
• Boards show some wear, smudges, bumps, scuffing, edgewear.  Corners are bumped, frayed, with exposed board.  See photos.  
• Spine has text effaced and is darkened with chipped, frayed ends.
• Binding is secure, with stitches visible at many openings. 
• Pastedowns and feps have some staining, writing. 
• Illustrations are bright and clear.  
• Interior is gently age-toned, exhibits some smudges, scattered spots.  Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.

First edition.  Publisher's pictorial tan cloth bordered in orange, with circus animals and signboard title inked in orange, white and gray.  Illustrated throughout with line drawings, plus photo portraits of the five Ringling brothers.  Boards show wear at edges, some color loss to the illustration.  Interior is unmarked.  Scarce.  Condition is overall Very Good.

Life Story of the Ringling Brothers is both a family autobiography and a historical memoir of the development of the Ringling Brothers circus.  Written by Alfred "Alf" Theodore Ringling, it promised "humorous incidents, thrilling trials, many hardships, and ups and downs, telling how the boys built a circus, and showing the true road to success," according to the title page.
