A beautiful, little (48vo), set comprising The Book of Common Prayer and Hymnal according to the rite of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States.  Printed by Oxford University Press for Thomas Nelson and Sons.  Finely bound in matching calf covers ornamented with gilt cross picked in red and gilt embossed borders.  Books are housed in a singular calf-wrapped case styled like an attache case.

End papers witness the gift-giving history of these books.  First inscribed to Louise Hart from her nephew H.G.H., Xmas 1875.  Then, in a different hand, to Florence Seymour Hart, from Grandmother, August 1929.  Finally, to Dyer D. Weed III, from Stephanie Chiappa (his sister), January 20, 2007.
