Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD condition, with a GOOD DJ under Mylar.
- Brown cloth covers are mostly clean with gilt title. Boards show a little staining at head, some edgewear. Corners are a little scuffed. See photos.
- Spine has gilt text and is bright with bumped ends.
- Binding is secure.
- End papers/ pastedowns show little to no sign of wear.
- Photo portrait of author shows some foxing to margins. See photos.
- Interior is gently age-toned. Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
- DJ is nicely preserved behind Mylar and is backed with archival paper.
- Illustrated DJ has some edgewear, chipped corners, chipped spine ends, closed tears and bumping along head edge, some staining to back and edges. See photos.

Dedicated to the local history of Hopewell, New Jersey, during the Second World War. The author, Dean H. Ashton (1900-1960), wrote a mimeographed newsletter during the war years that was sent to service members from Hopewell, in addition to being circulated locally. Fifty issues of the newsletter were produced between 1943 and 1946. An index of names is included.
