Intended for students, and dedicated to Sir Joshua Reynolds, who was President of the Royal Academy of Painting in 1770 when this work was first published, this Introduction to the Theory and Practice of Perspective was just one of the very many works written by Joseph Priestley.  Priestley (1733-1804) was a British natural philosopher, political theorist, theologian, and educator.

The text is accompanied by 25 fold-out plates, some with overlaid parts, which illustrate the principles laid out by the author.

In a modern, pliable binding which contributes to the readable quality of the text.

The Second Edition Corrected.
