Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD+ condition.

  • Garnet cloth covers are mostly clean, with gilt title.  Boards show a little edgewear.  Corners are bumped.  See photos. 
  • Spine has gilt text and is a little faded, with bumped ends.
  • Binding is strong.
  • Some pages are bound in with hinged strips, as at page 73.  See photos. 
  • End papers/ pastedowns show little to no sign of age or wear; a few notes in pencil at back fep.
  • Frontispiece, a photograph, is present.
  • Owner inscription on title page.  
  • Illustrations, ink drawings in text and photo plates, are bright and clear.
