This diaristic account is the work of Henry Parry Liddon undertook a tour of Russia, traveling via Berlin, Brussels and Cologne and returning via Dresden and Paris.  They both kept diaries of the journey, which was Dodgson's first, and only, trip abroad.

Dodgson's original manuscript journals, in which he describes his tour, were acquired by Morris Longstreth Parrish (1867-1944).  Parrish was a prominent American stockbroker and legendary book collector, known as the dean of Carroll collectors.  His library at Dormy House in Pine Valley, New Jersey was devoted to Victorian novelists.  Known now as the Parrish Collection, the library and its extensive holdings of Carrolliana are now held by the Princeton University Library.     Parrish acquired the manuscript and published Dodgson's diary of his journey to Moscow for private distribution.

Limited edition of sixty-six copies.  Privately printed in Philadelphia for distribution by M.L. Parrish.
