Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD condition, with a GOOD DJ under Mylar.

  • Butterscotch covers have title and ornament in brown ink. 
  • Boards show some smudges, scuffing, edgewear.  Corners are bumped.  See photos.  
  • Spine has some scuffing with bumped ends.
  • Binding is strong. 
  • Pastedowns and feps have some offset toning, author's inscription and signature at front fep.  See photos. 
  • Interior is gently age-toned, pages 58-59 have offset toning.  Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.  See photos.
  • Text block edges have a few marks. 
  • DJ is nicely preserved behind Mylar and is backed with archival paper.
  • DJ has some edgewear, chipped corners, chipping along head edge, bumping along foot edge, sunning, staining to front, small chips at spine ends.  See photos.

First Edition, Signed and Inscribed by the author.  Publisher's light brown boards with original light blue dust jacket, unclipped.  Book is sound and square.  Boards show some small scuffs and bumped lower corners.  Dust Jacket is sunned, with some staining, wear to corners and edges.  Interior is quite fresh.  Inscribed and signed, with ink cartoons, on the free end paper.  Condition is overall Very Good, with a Good dust jacket.

Subtitled "A Great Champion Speaks From His Heart!," this book is a memoir by Edward Patrick "Mickey" Walker (1901-1981), an American professional boxer.  Walker held both the Undisputed World Welterweight and Undisputed World Middleweight Championships at different points in his career.  After his retirement from boxing, he enjoyed renown as an artist.  The work explores Walker's inner thoughts and feelings about the things that impressed him in his life.
