- Pastedowns and feps have some light foxing, a gift inscription.
- Interior is gently age-toned, exhibits marginal toning, some smudges.
- Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
- Text block edges have gilt along head, are a little foxed.

A handsome copy of this scarce first edition of stories by William Barry. Blue boards feature a decorative gilt band and shaped edges. Some exposure to the spine, edgewear at corners and spine ends, but overall in Very Good condition.
William Francis Barry (1849-1930) was a Roman Catholic priest and author, born in London of Irish Catholic parents. In addition to teaching, Barry wrote a number of novels and stories, most notably The New Antigone (1887). He is credited as the creator of the modern English Catholic novel. (Wiki)
