A study of one element of the Nazi war machine, written while the Second World War was still in progress.  The authors relied on Nazi broadcasts, press, and other publications in their study, not of the content of Nazi propaganda, but of the organization and dissemination of their message in Germany and beyond. 

This academic study, first published in May 1943, found a readership beyond strictly academic circles, leading to a second printing in August 1944.
