This scarce 19th century volume covers 1,000 interesting mental and physical recreations, with explanatory engravings. 132 pages with table of contents followed by 40 pages of other books by publisher. 4.5" by 7".

Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD condition. 

  • The boards feature a full length illustration, darkened with scuffing and wear to the finish, faint stains to the title and board perimeter, prominent edgewear with exposed boards and wear to the interior aspect of the boards. 
  • Corners are heavily worn with exposed boards.
  • Cloth spine features bold lettering and design detail and scuffed ends with fraying. 
  • Front hinge is lightly cracked which can be seen between the first two leafs. Please see photos. 
  • Binding is secure overall though the frontmatter, which includes advertisements, is partially detached along the outermost portions with small gaps where the stitching occurs; binding is loose between pages 66/67 and 78/79. Please see photos. 
  • Endpapers, including pastedowns, feature illustrated advertisements and show various signs of age and wear such as writing to the pastedowns, an open tear to the final leaf preceding the pastedown,  and wear to the edges of the first and final leafs featuring advertisements. Please see photos. 
  • Interior shows a number of light check marks to the margins of pages 9, 11, 24, 32 while page 26 shows a check mark with additional light writing in pencil to the margins. Please see photos for examples. 
  • Text block edges are darkened with a small dark fleck to the upper portion of the fore edge. 
  • Book may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear.
