The Amateur's Vade Mecum; A Practical Treatise on the Art of Dancing

by E. B. Reilley

From its ancient and modern history to its techniques and different forms, as well as its importance as an art form, here is a comprehensive reference guide on the art of dancing. Dance as a means of corporal expression has no equal among the arts, yet a very complex and elaborate etiquette has been defined through the long history of its practice. Illustrated with line drawings, comprising descriptions of the different steps, positions, as well as the costumes and various sorts of dances, this small convenient book gives an insight into the most beautiful of performing arts through a 19th century professor's view. 231 pages. 4.75 x 6 inches.
