Written in the form of a novel, this is a memoir of a happy childhood summer in Toronto, ON in Canada. The adventures include a regatta as well as many recollections of the most fun and entertaining times spent with the cousins, with family and friends. It offers a touching look-back on a time past, and brings back to life the environment of Toronto in the first half of the past century.
Lavishly illustrated with B&W photographs of actual people and places in the story. Includes a Preface, as well as a small poem at the beginning of each chapter.
EPHEMERA: contents of letter add details to some of the events and characters in the story. Inscription is from Doc Philips to Fred Rudolph. Based on letter, it can be assumed that "Doc" is a nickname for the author.
