Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD condition.

• Marbled covers are mostly clean. 
• Boards show some edgewear.  Corners are bumped, scuffed.  See photos.  
• Green cloth spine has a little scuffing to the ends.  
• Binding is secure.  
• Pastedowns show little sign of age or wear. 
• Interior is gently age-toned, with a small closed tear along spine at pg. 16.  See photos.  
• Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
• Text block has some uncut pages, an uneven cut at foot of title page.  See photos.

First Edition.  Original thin marbled boards with green cloth at spine.  Interior is gently toned, free of marks.  Text block has small printed illustrations, a few pages remain unopened.  Tied binding is secure.  Exceedingly scarce Ojibwe language prayer book as 'Printed by the Indian Children [of] the Harbor Springs Franciscan mission'. Text printed in English phonetics.  Condition is overall Very Good. 

Page two, in English, is a letter from Bishop Henry Joseph of Grand Rapids, Mich., to Rev. Zephyrin Engelhardt (1851-1934) about printing parts of The Stations of the Cross by Frederic Baraga (1797-1868).  It reads in part, "I gladly give you permission to print in the Indian language from Bishop Baraga's book, The Stations of the Cross."  The children of this mission produced a large quantity of printed material, ranging from other prayer books and pamphlets, to an extensive run of at least two monthly periodicals.
