Hardback set is overall in VERY GOOD+ condition.

• Glazed pictorial boards are mostly clean, with color illustration, inked title.
• Boards show some smudges, edgewear.  Corners are sharp.  
• Spines are cloth, in various colors.  Ends show a little wear.  See photos. 
• Stapled bindings are secure. 
• Blue patterned end papers/ pastedowns show little sign of wear.
• Illustrations, four color chromo-lithographs in each book, are bright and clear, each story also has sepia drawings in-text.  
• Interiors are gently age-toned, pages have some smudges, shadows, scattered foxing.  Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.  See photos.

A wonderful set of miniature illustrated Victorian children's books, from Ernest Nister in London in conjunction with E.P. Dutton in New York.  Printed in Bavaria, each volume bears the number "816".  No publication date, circa 1890s.

Tender, detailed illustrations of children and babies, dogs and cats, and farm animals accompany the stories.
