A "rare view inside a deviant secret society," (flap) this volume by a sociologist is described as an "analytical ethnography and psychohistory."  A from-the inside study of The Process Church of the Final Judgment (Time magazine, 9/6/1971), which the author dubs The Power.  Formed from an informal group in 1963, The Power grew and spread in chapters around the world until it dissolved in schism in 1974.
