An overall Very Good copy of this scarce dual-language volume of photo reproductions of portraits of Emperors and Empresses of China.  Arranged chronologically, the portraits run from 2953 B.C. to A.D. 1621 with the penultimate Emperor of the Ming Dynasty.  Tissue overlays give the ruler's name and reign.

The tissue overlays are annotated in pencil in a single hand.
