• Pale green cloth covers have gilt title turned 90 degrees, blind stamped border.  
• Boards show some smudges, edgewear. Corners are bumped and scuffed.  Please see photographs for details of condition.
• Spine is somewhat cocked, with crushed ends.
• Binding is secure.  Stitching visible at some openings, e.g. at pages 96-97.  See photos.  
• Pastedowns and feps show some staining, a small chip to foot of ffep.  See photos.
• Interior is age-toned, with moderate foxing.  Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.

The expanded title reads, "An infallible guide-book for married and single persons, in matters of the utmost importance to the human race," by a French physician.  

This edition follows the first U.S. edition (New York, 1842), "With a supplement from Canfield's Sexual Physiology, on Coquetry, Venereal Madness, Marriage, Etc."
