Hardback portfolio with loose sheets is overall in VERY GOOD condition.

• Textured cream board portfolio is mostly clean, with title on spine.  Portfolio shows some cracking at spine shoulder.  See photos.   
• Pale gray inner wraps are mostly clean, with title in blue script.  Wraps show some exposure at edges.  Corners are sharp.  See photos. 
• Portfolio spine has blue script and is darkened with firm ends.
• Loose signatures sit in inner wraps.
• Frontispiece is present.
• Illustrations are bright and clear.  
• Interior exhibits some marginal toning, a few smudges.  Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.

Limited Edition of 500 copies; loose folio signatures in wraps with board portfolio, housed in a slipcase.  In French.  Illustrated with black and white sketches in the text and full-page color plates by the artist André Dignimont.  A little toning to sheet edges, interior is bright.  Condition is overall Very Good Plus.

An attractive edition of memoirs by French author and woman of letters Colette (1873-1954), written from German-occupied Paris during the Second World War.  The illustrations are by André Dignimont (1891–1965), French illustrator and printmaker known for capturing Parisian life and cafe scenes in a distinct pen, ink, and watercolor style.
