A Very Good Plus copy of this scarce book by Pearl S. Buck (1892-1973).  Publisher's russet cloth with gilt title on the spine, housed in a matching slipcase.  Designed and published by the Appalachian Press in a limited edition, the proceeds of which were used to help purchase Pearl Buck's mother's house, now the Pearl S. Buck Birthplace museum.

The house in Hillsboro, West Virginia, was Pearl Buck's mother's home and also the place where Pearl Buck was born.  It was treasured and kept alive in memory during the years the family spent as missionaries in China, and so the book is a kind of memoir of a beloved place.

Edition of 500 copies.  Signed by the author on half-title page.
