Hardback is overall in GOOD+ condition.

  • Volume displays commensurate wear and aging to covers and interior.
  • Dark covers feature gilt text and design on front, and display some overall rubbing.
  • Boards exhibit expected edgewear, and are exposed at corners, minimally on back, fully on front corners.
  • Spine is faded, and frayed at ends.
  • Binding is overall secure, showing some play.
  • Frontispiece is surrounded with some scarce foxing, and protected behind tissue guard that is mildly foxed.
  • Feps exhibit scattered foxing.
  • Front fep displays inscription to Levi Maule by Thomas L. Rubey. (See photos)
  • Interior displays mild overall toning with minimal foxing to title page.
  • Pages inside exhibit minor edgewear and some toning along edges.
  • At least two pages inside show pencil marks. (Photo shows the most significant mark)
  • Textblock edges display expected aging as well as scattered foxing along fore edge and rare small stains.
  • Book may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear.

This collection of memorial addresses are a testimony of the life and death of the American Senator from Missouri. The third session of the sixty-fifth congress, it puts together addresses from various states, delivered both at the Senate and the House of Representatives upon Stone's death. It also details the proceedings in both chambers of the United States Congress on February 2, 1919. A valuable piece of American history. 

PROVENANCE: Inscription to Levi Maule by Thomas L. Rubey on front fep. Levi Maule (1841-?) was a Civil War veteran from PA. Thomas L. Rubey was a state representative from Missouri.
