This volume offers a detailed account of Britain’s military campaign in Egypt during the Napoleonic Wars.  The book provides a comprehensive narrative of the expedition, emphasizing the strategic maneuvers, battles, and leadership that shaped the campaign, with a particular focus on the contributions of Sir Ralph Abercromby.  Robert Thomas Wilson (1777-1849), a British Army officer and historian, served under Abercromby in the Egyptian campaign.  Wilson's direct experience is reflected in his commentary on Egypt's political and military state at the time, including its defensive capabilities and resources.  Featuring maps and a portrait of Abercromby, the book serves both as a historical record and a tribute to the military achievements of the era.  It remains an invaluable resource for those interested in British military history and early 19th-century geopolitics.
