Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD++ condition.

• Marbled covers are mostly clean, with gilt title at spine.  Boards show a little edge rubbing.  Corners are sharp, a little scuffed.  See photos. 
• Spine has gilt text and is bright with firm ends.
• Binding is tight.  
• End papers/ pastedowns show little to no sign of age or wear.
• Interior exhibits minimal signs of age and wear, with a little marginal toning.  Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
• Text block edges have a small mark at foot.  See photos.  
• Onionskin wrapper shows some creasing, bumping at head and foot, a few small closed tears.

First, limited edition, privately printed for the author.  Marbled boards in grey and mustard, quarter bound in black cloth with gilt at spine.  With the original onionskin wrapper.  A touch of marginal toning to the interior, unmarked, with a tight, square binding.  A little rubbing to the foot edge of the boards.  Very Good indeed copy of this scarce volume.  One of one hundred and one copies printed.

A small volume of financial memoirs by Dean Mathey (1890-1972), tennis champion, Princeton University graduate (1912), and Wall Street titan.  A partner at Dillon, Read & Co. from 1924, Mathey played a role in the expansion of the oil and gas, credit and loan, and motion picture industries.  A long-time trustee and supporter of Princeton University, the university's Mathey College is named for him.
