This vintage memoir offers an entertaining first-hand account of life in a polygamous Mormon family, including six wives and thirty-six children.  The author Samuel W. Taylor (1907-1997) was born in Provo, Utah, and attended Brigham Young University.  Taylor wrote novels, stories, and history in addition to his family memoir.  He is best known for his story "A Situation of Gravity" (Liberty magazine 1943), which was adapted to become the Disney film The Absent-Minded Professor (1961) starring Fred MacMurray.
