Very scarce two volume set, publication years of 1852 and 1854 printed on spines. Handsomely rebound in yellow leather with six raised bandds on the spines along with two red title blocks with gilt. These massive volumes are illustrated with 40 steel engravings and 2,475 wood engravings. Volume I cover Abbatoir to Hair-Pencils while Volume II covers Hammer to Zirconium. 832 and 1,052 pages. Each volume measures 6.75" by 10.25".
