Hardbacks are overall in VERY GOOD- condition.

  • Volumes display moderate to mild overall wear and aging to covers and interior.
  • Covers feature lovely color designs on front and back.
  • "Oriental binding" features patterned silk along spine, and is secured with color ribbons.
  • Spine has some fraying to ends.
  • Boards display overall toning as well as some foxing. Volume 2 shows some stains along edges. Volume 3 exhibits more pronounced general foxing.
  • Binding is secure in all volumes.
  • Illustration plates are well preserved, and protected with tissue guards bearing caption to artwork.
  • Interior features traditional Asian folded page design. Patterned thin paper is likely hand made and decorated with light design. (See photos)
  • Pages are gently age-toned.
  • Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks. 
  • Textblock edges show commensurate toning.
  • Book may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear.
