First Edition stated.  Multicolor pictorial boards illustrating the overprinting technique.  Illustrated with 495 three- and four-color groupings of eleven basic inks, plus 44 pages of pictorial application of the medium.  Boards show only a little edgewear, binding is tight, color charts and plates are clear and vibrant.  Condition of this very scarce design volume is Very Good Plus.

As the title page explains, this is a "complete guidebook in the art and printing techniques employing transparent inks in multiple combinations," for use by "artists, printers, engravers, art directors and editors in the book, magazine, advertising, and graphic arts fields generally."  

The author, Donald E. Cooke (1916-1985), from Philadelphia, was an author and illustrator, founder of Edraydo Publishers.  This reference work for illustration and design is itself a testament to the techniques of overprinting and accurate color work.
