The subtitle continues: "containing a careful examination of the evidence on which they claim to be received; by which the pretended portraits have been rejected, the genuine confirmed and established, illustrated by accurate and finished engravings, by the ablest artists from such originals as were of indisputable authority". 206+ page. 6" by 9.25".

Hardback is overall in GOOD condition.
- Front board is detached but present.
- Boards show minimal scuffing to perimeter with a bit more to spine edges.
- Spine features five raised bands with gilt letters and illustrations.
- Bookplates on both pastedowns.
- A few pages show light to heavy foxing, while most are blank pages with all text quite legible.
- No writing, highlighting, underlining or other intentional marks.
- Book may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear.
