A Very Good copy of this issue of XXe Siècle, dedicated to the centennial of the birth of Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944).  Complete, with two original Kandinsky gravures on wood, plus numerous additional illustrations and plates in color and black & white.  Glazed boards are generally bright, with some scuffing to edges and shelfwear to back.  Text in French, with summaries in German and English at the back.

Launched in 1938 by Gualtieri di San Lazzaro, the illustrated periodical XXe Siècle was distinguished by the inclusion of original prints by contemporary artists in every issue.  Notably, Wassily Kandinsky was a contributor and supporter of XXe Siècle from the first issue, which adds a personal note of tribute to this centennial issue.
