• Blue cloth covers are mostly clean, with gilt text and black ink illustration.  Boards show some edgewear.  Corners are bumped and scuffed.  See photos. 
• Spine has gilt text and is faded, with  bumped ends.
• Binding is secure. 
• Illustrated end papers have some marginal toning. 
• Frontispiece is present and has intact, creased tissue guard.
• Illustrations, four black line drawings and eight color plates, are bright and clear.  
• Interior is gently age-toned, inside pages have illustration shadows on facing pages.  
• Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
• Text block edges have untrimmed fore and foot edges.

Lovely copy of a children's classic in Very Good condition.  Illustrated by Nancy Barnhart (1889-1964) with 8 bright full-page, full-color illustration plates, including a tissue-protected frontispiece, and 4 full-page black and white drawings.  Pale green illustrated endpapers.  Pages are ivoried, clean and unmarked.
