This is the whole story of a modern miracle:  the smash hit revival of a 1920s musical comedy which, in 1972, was one of the greatest theatrical successes of modern times.  Don Dunn has traced the history of the revival from the time it was incubated in the mind of Harry Rigby (who was eventually shaken out of the production) through the planning of the play, the infighting among the producers, the doubts and fears of the cast, to the fantastic reception accorded the play's Boston tryout.  It is a book about Ruby Keeler and Busby Berkeley, about the thirty years between the last film they made together and their reunion with Nanette.  It is about Irving Caesar, and how "Tea for Two" was born in 1925 and reborn in 1971.  The Making of "No, No, Nanette" is a book about the theatre, the meticulously chronicled recording of the production of a single Broadway show.  It is also a book about people -- some with dreams, some with money, some with problems, who worked and fought to reach a goal.

Inscribed to Ahmet Ertegun, co-founder of Atlantic Records.

First edition.  Signed and inscribed by author on free end paper.
