Elegant presentation for this collection of ten lectures by John Ruskin to a group of school girls, ostensibly about the properties of crystals, but more truly a metaphorical exploration of social and political ideals. John Ruskin (1819-1900) was an English art critic, writer, and social reformer of the Victorian era. He wrote widely on art, championed the Pre-Raphaelites, and then transitioned to social issues, publishing influential essays on political economy and arguing that human life and community health matter more than profit.
