Scars is a Trip Book by Brigid Berlin (1939-2020), an American artist and former Warhol Superstar, known for her obsessive diaristic recordings of her life during the 1960s and 1970s. The book contains a selection of Berlin/Polk's collection of ink prints that she made of celebrities and her friends' scars, reproduced in holograph facsimile with accompanying explanations of the wounds by those who'd been scarred. Notable subjects include Peter Fonda, Viva, Taylor Mead, Patti Smith, Gerard Malanga, Brice Marden, Geneviève Waïte, Larry Rivers, John Giorno, Rene Ricard, Peter Beard, Lillian Roxon, and Bill Berkson.
In 2022, Scars was reprinted for the first time by The Waverly Press to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the first Telegraph Books edition.
