This epistolary novel about slavery, set in Virginia, was first published in 1853 as Cousin Franck's Household by Pocahontas. In 1863 the novel was re-issued with the title Ruth's Sacrifice, published in Boston by Charles H. Pearson and Graves & Young. The 1864 imprint has the 1863 copyright.
