Softback booklet is overall in VERY GOOD condition.

• Illustrated wraps are mostly clean. 
• Wraps show some exposure at periphery, edgewear.  Corners are softened, worn.  See photos.  
• Spine is a little darkened with tiny chips at ends.  See photos.
• Binding is secure. 
• Illustrations are bright and clear.  
• Interior is gently age-toned, exhibits some light edgewear.  Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.

First Edition.  Heavy paper wraps feature an original lithograph in four colors by Picasso.  Narrow booklet format with introductory essay on gray laid paper followed by pages of plates.  A little wear to the corners and some toning at the edges.  Condition is overall Very Good. 

One in a series of booklets devoted to artists of the 20th century published by Berggruen.  The quality of the production is such that this is a work of art in its own right.   

Printed in France 1956.  Typography by the presses of L'Imprimerie Union, Paris; phototype and stencils executed by the studios of Daniel Jacomet.
