Volume II of this two-volume work of topographical landscape views in the British Isles. Oblong quarto format; arranged by country with descriptive text preceding each block of full-page engravings. Contemporary marble boards with leather at spine and corners show heavy edgewear but generally clean. Interior is uniformly tanned, with some creasing to the opening sheets and an old repair to the title page. Engraved images are crisp, with distinct impression borders. Condition is overall Very Good-.
A dual-language edition, in English and French. Title page is split, with English at head, followed by the French beneath. Explanatory caption pages have French and English in side-by-side columns.
The views are the work of Paul Sandby RA (1731–1809), an English map-maker turned landscape painter in watercolors. Sandby, along with his older brother Thomas, became one of the founding members of the Royal Academy in 1768.
