Very good first edition copy of this collection of speeches made by Winston Churchill in the period immediately following the Second World War.  Edited by Churchill's son Randolph, with an introduction emphasizing the role of Churchill as defender of Western values and freedoms.

Also included in this volume is Churchill's Maxims and Reflections (London: Eyre and Spottiswoode, 1947, 176 pages).  Selected and edited by Colin Coote and Denzil Batchelor, this work offers a compendium of Churchill's statements, arranged under topical headings, e.g. His Likes, Dislikes, Russians, Foreigners, Human Conduct.

The two works are bound together in this handsome private library volume, the binding made by Bayntun (Riviere) of Bath, England.

First editions, as per the publishers' information.
