Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD condition.

  • Volume displays mild overall aging and wear to covers and interior.
  • Green cloth covers feature black text on front with black line design on front and back.
  • Boards display mild overall rubbing and edgewear, as well as a small bump to lower corner on front. (See photos)
  • Spine features gilt lettering with black design, and exhibits mild overall rubbing, including along shoulders, as well as softening with exposed board to head.
  • Binding has some play, yet is overall secure, with slight gutter gap between pgs 160-161 in book. (See photos)
  • Illustrations inside are well preserved including pages of actual silk samples at end of book, which show some scattered foxing as well as light warping.
  • Book exhibits bookseller sticker on lower corner of front pastedown. (See photos)
  • Half-title and title pages display some foxing. Half-title page exhibits an offset shadow.
  • Interior is gently age-toned throughout, with rare marginal foxing / smudges.
  • Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks. 
  • Pages 89-96 are as yet uncut from the printer.
  • Three pages inside show a little crease to lower corner. (See photos)
  • Dried leaf(?) inserted between two pages has left small shadow on both sides of gutter. Still in book. (See photos)
  • Textblock uses 3 different papers. In addition to text, the alphabetical list at end of volume are of a darker and more fragile stock. Sample/illustration pages are a slightly more glossy paper than rest of book.
  • Text block edges show commensurate toning, and a darker tint along head, evidence of previous inking.
  • Book may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear.
