- Binding is secure; some splitting to feps at back cover. See photos.
- Pastedowns and feps have some toning, a bookseller sticker, owner's marks.
- Frontispiece is present and has intact tissue guard.
- Illustrations are bright and clear, plates are tipped-in, with some marginal age-toning, have tissue guards with captions.
- Interior is gently age-toned, exhibits 1" closed tear at foot of page viii. See photos.
- Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
- Text block edges have a few marks.

Very good copy of this first edition of Shakespeare's Tempest, in original publisher's cloth decorated in gilt, and featuring forty color plates with illustrations by French-British illustrator Edmund Dulac (1882-1953). Boards show some exposure and wear to spine. Interior, on heavy stock, is very good.
