Very scarce. A fascinating book with a number of interesting topics including Pettenkofer's theory, water supply and waste disposal, wells, well water, natural resources, sewage disposal, soil, ground water, habitations, privy attachments to school buildings and much more. He even addresses the disposal of the dead and the dangers of cemeteries. Accompanied by B&W illustrations, as well as an appendix on the normal distribution of chlorine along with a map showing the distribution of chlorine in Connecticut. 84 pages with index. 5.75" by 8".

Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD- condition.
- Green cloth covers are mostly clean with inked lettering.
- Boards show some wear with soiling.
- Corners are bumped and bowed with partially exposed boards.
- Spine has black lettering with scuffing to finish and softened ends.
- Binding is secure however the gutter is cracked along pages 48/49.
- Illustrated pastedowns and endpapers show little to no sign of age or wear.
- Front pastedown and ffep are lightly wrinkled.
- Interior exhibits minimal signs of age and wear with some very light scattered foxing / faint smudges.
- Inside pages are gently toned, and free of writing and intentional marks.
- Textblock edges are clean and free of intentional marks
- Book may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear.
