Softback is overall in VERY GOOD condition.

  • Caramel brown wraps of handmade paper are mostly clean, with title label and black ink text.  
  • Wraps show some wear, signs of handling, scuffing at corners, edgewear.  Corners are worn.  See photos for details of condition.  
  • Japanese hand sewn binding is secure. 
  • Interior is gently age-toned, exhibits some smudges, light edgewear.  Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.

Poems by Gary Snyder (b. 1930), an American man of letters, poet, and environmentalist.  Snyder's early work was associated with the Beat Generation; he taught for many years at UC Davis.  A Pulitzer Prize winner, Snyder has been called the "poet laureate of Deep Ecology." (Wikipedia) 

Printed in Kyoto, Japan, by Genichido Co.  The handsewn Japanese binding and handmade paper wraps are in keeping with the poet's connection to Japanese spirituality.  Second Edition.
