Hardbacks are overall in VERY GOOD+ condition.

  • Volumes are in overall very good+ condition with minor wear on covers and inside.
  • Color blind-tooled covers show minimal aging with some occasional staining and toning along shoulders and ends of spine. 
  • Boards are mostly clean with minimal fading.
  • Corners are sharp with minimal rubbing.
  • Spine has titleblock with text in bright gilt and occasional toning and scarce staining.
  • Binding is secure.
  • Endpapers show discreet toning with a shadow possibly from binding along hinge.
  • Frontispieces have intact tissue guards and are in great condition with minimal toning.
  • Illustrations are well-maintained with few toning.
  • Interior is mildly age-toned with scarce occasional stains.  
  • Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
  • Number of copy written opposite half-title page. (See photos)
  • Text block edges are deckled with gilt along edge.
  • Slipcases are in good condition showing mild overall toning and occasional finger marks.
  • Volume 1 displays slight staining on head. (See photos)
  • Volume 5 has a mark and some staining on slipcase. (See photos)
  • Volume 8 exhibits some rubbing on upper corners of slipcase.
  • Book may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear.
